Elite Spring and Summer High Performance Programs

 

Stride Athletics strength & conditioning, and on-ice programs are designed to give athletes a significant physical and mental edge in the upcoming hockey season. This is a complete conditioning and skill development program. Chad Shiel has developed a proven system that has successfully enhanced the performance of many Pro, College, Junior, Midget, and Bantam players. This is not just an off season conditioning program this is a total player development program.

 

Elite Spring Program (8 weeks)

The Spring Program is constructed into phase 1 of a three phase periodized program. Players will focus their efforts on developing a foundation of strength, power, and speed. 

 

April 6 – May 28, 2020

Dryland Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs

Cost: $720 + GST

 

Elite Summer Program (12 weeks)

The Summer Program is designed to prepare elite players for the upcoming hockey season. In the summer program players will begin more advanced hockey specific training methods, as well as take to the ice to begin working on skating mechanics, speed, quickness, agility, puck skills, high intensity flow drills and scrimmages. The summer program combines high intensity off ice hockey specific training and on-ice development.

 

This program is designed for players that have played Bantam AAA to Professional levels. Players will be grouped according to age and ability. 

 

On Ice Sessions will focus on:

  • Skill Development (Skating, Passing, Puck Control, Shooting & Scoring)

  • High tempo full ice flow drills

  • Learning to play on both sides of the puck (Offense & Defense)

  • Defensive and Offensive zone play

  • Game Situations

  • Variety of different competitive drills and scrimmages

 

Dry-land Sessions will focus on:

  • Player Fitness Evaluation (allows to track player progress and identify players strengths & weakness)

  • Strength & Power Development

  • Energy System development (aerobic, anaerobic)

  • Flexibility & Core Stability

  • Multi – Directional Movement (speed, agility, quickness)

  • Explosiveness (power plyometrics)

 

June 1 – Aug 27, 2020

Dryland Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs

June Ice 2 days per week

July - Aug Ice 3 days per week Mon, Tues, Wed, and or Thurs

Cost: $1800 + GST

 

Summer Program (8 weeks)

The philosophy of this program is to introduce players to the concepts of off-ice training, combined with high intensity on-ice sessions. Players will focus their efforts on developing a foundation of speed, agility, and coordination as well as take to the ice to work on skating mechanics, quickness, puck control, small area games, and high intensity flow drills and scrimmages.

This program will consist of players that played Pee Wee AA to Bantam AA this past season.
